Notice of recommencement of activities at Croft quarry

We have been advised by Aggregate Industries, the operators of Croft quarry, that they will be recommencing mineral extraction within their permitted area.

The first blast is scheduled for the week commencing the 11th March 2021. All blasting would be undertaken between 12-2pm.

Tier 4: Stay at Home

Blaby District and the rest of Leicestershire will move to Tier 4 Covid-19 restrictions from 00:01 on Thursday 31 December 2020

This means that:-

  • People must stay at home except for very limited purposes (eg. for essential travel for work, education or medical appointments)
  • You cannot meet indoors with anyone not in your household or existing support bubble

Christmas trees delivered

Christmas tree on The Green

The Parish Council's Christmas trees have now been delivered and erected in the village.

Oakberry Christmas Trees in Dunton Bassett have delivered two 18-foot, Norway Spruce trees which have been erected in the usual places on The Green and on the Memorial Garden opposite St James Church.

It is hoped that work to install all the Christmas lights will be completed on Monday 30 November.

Blaby District Council have just issued an announcement that garden waste collections will be suspended for two weeks from Monday (16 November) due to staff shortages as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of the government's latest approach to control the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19, a new, three-tier system was introduced on Wednesday 14th October 2020 across England.

The COVID Fraud Hotline is open 24/7, 365 days a year on 0800 587 5030 or fill in the simple and secure anonymous form at Covidfraudhotline.org. You'll be doing the right thing to help ensure the public purse is protected from fraudsters.
