County Council Election Results

Details of the County Council election results are all tallied and confirmed, following yesterday's election.

Cllr Ernie White (Conservative) was re-elected, with 73.2% of the vote for the Stanton and Croft ward, which represents the villages of Aston Flamville, Croft, Elmesthorpe, Huncote, Potters Marston, Sapcote, Sharnford and Stoney Stanton.

Revised bus route for Huncote

Revised bus route for Huncote

From 22nd April 2017, a revised bus service and route for Huncote will be in operation.

The new X84 service will run from St Margaret's bus station, past the LRI (hospital), down Narborough Road, and via Huncote to Broughton Astley, Lutterworth, Magna Park and on to Rugby.

Timetables for the new Monday to Saturday service are below.

Report crime at the click of a button

Online crime reporting has launched in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, giving residents the ability to report incidents online.

Online reporting went live on 3 April, and aims to increase the number of ways the public can make contact with the force.

It was introduced to give people the chance to report crimes to us at their convenience in a way they felt comfortable.

Two fined for failure to update microchip details

Two dog owners have been prosecuted for failing to ensure their dogs microchip details were up to date.

Under The Micro-chipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015, dog owners must have their pet micro-chipped, and for all details to have the most recent information with contact details for a dog's keeper.

Huncote's Main Street Garage, was awarded Britain's prestigious "Small Garage of the Year 2016" title at the 2016 Car Accessory Trader Magazine Awards sponsored by Automechanika, against some very stiff national competition. Microchipping amnesty event at Council

Residents are being invited to an identification event to ensure their dog is complying with the law, a year since legislation was introduced.
