Garden waste collections suspended
Blaby District Council have just issued an announcement that garden waste collections will be suspended for two weeks from Monday (16 November) due to staff shortages as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

What does the local COVID alert level actually mean for you?
As part of the government's latest approach to control the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19, a new, three-tier system was introduced on Wednesday 14th October 2020 across England.
While Leicester and Oadby & Wigston have been placed in the High-risk tier, the rest of Leicestershire is currently Medium-risk, which is the lowest level.

New hotline launched to report COVID fraudsters
A new hotline has been launched to stop fraudsters illegally targeting COVID stimulus schemes.
The COVID Fraud Hotline is open 24/7, 365 days a year on 0800 587 5030 or fill in the simple and secure anonymous form at Covidfraudhotline.org. You'll be doing the right thing to help ensure the public purse is protected from fraudsters.

Planned Essential Maintenance - Website Downtime - Tuesday 29th September
Our website will be receiving some essential maintenance work next Tuesday morning (September 29th). This will mean that the website won't be available most of that morning and maybe some of the afternoon.

Third demolition blast planned
Aggregate Industries wish to confirm that a demolition blast will be carried out tomorrow between 3pm-5pm, weather dependent (alternatively it will be rescheduled to Thursday). The blast will be taking place within the quarry workings and will be the final demolition blast planned on site.
