Draft Strategic Growth Plan for Leicestershire and Leicester
These proposals will affect the area around Huncote and the whole of the county for the next 15 years and beyond
A draft Strategic Growth Plan for Leicestershire and Leicester has been prepared and is now available for public consultation until 5 April 2018. A copy of the draft Plan, summary leaflet, evidence used in its preparation and the consultation questionnaire are available on a dedicated web site. Please use the link www.llstrategicgrowthplan.org.uk
Major features of this draft Plan are:
- changing the Desford crossroads to a roundabout,
- creating a direct rail service between Leicester and Coventry, and
- building a new A46 Expressway link road, part of which joins junction 2 of the M69 at Sapcote to the M1 at a new junction 20a at Cosby; and will lead around the south and east of Leicester to rejoin the A46 between Ratcliffe on the Wreake and Six Hills to the north.
